Midwest Adoption Center (MAC) is a not-for-profit organization founded in 1992 to provide a wide range of services to children, adults and families touched by foster care and adoption. The programs of the Center focus on helping each member of the adoption triad meet these new challenges.
The Illinois DCFS Closed File Information and Search Service
Provides information from closed DCFS files and search service to people affected by adoption or guardianship care through the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services. This is a free service funded by DCFS.
The Confidential Intermediary Service of Illinois
Provides search service to people affected by adoptions in which the adopted person was born in Illinois or the adoption was legally completed in Illinois. This is a free service funding by the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services.
MAC also offers fee based individual and family counseling.
Training and consultation is available for individual social workers and agencies regarding post-adoption service.
